Rapper Azealia Banks has kicked up new controversy about the Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor, whom she claims sent her unwanted nude pictures and then followed it up with threats. Drama commenced on July 14, when Banks shared screenshots of their private interactions on X (formerly known as Twitter), accusing McGregor of sharing sexual images without her approval.

A video that is now gone viral shows Conor McGregor sending inappropriate photos to rapper Azealia Banks. As per Banks, one of the pictures showed him doing something disturbing — with a dumbbell attached to his private area, pretending to lift it like weights.

Banks did not hold back and shared a bold caption along with the images, directly calling out the MMA fighter. She also hinted that she is considering taking action in response to the incident.

She wrote, “How low does someone have to sink to send pictures like this to a woman? I am not here for any of this ‘potato farmer’ nonsense. And then to end the whole conversation by saying ‘I’m in Los Angeles, don’t tell anyone’ — it is just childish. Darling… Are you seriously trying to run for President of Ireland?”

Banks’ post has since gone viral, sparking widespread discussion across social media, with many speaking out in her support.

Banks’ post was immediately met with outpourings of reaction on social media, with many slamming McGregor for his alleged actions and praising Banks for her decision to speak out. This might have been in response to allegations, as serious as they could be, however McGregor ended the silence with a cryptic post on X that read, “Happy birthday to me!” — a choice many fans interpreted either as deflection or sarcasm, given that his birthday is July 14. The post simply fanned the flames as followers quizzed him on his motives, calling for action instead.

This is not McGregor’s first controversy. The former UFC champion has faced numerous allegations of sexual misconduct. In a rape case in Ireland, he was ordered to pay more than $230,000, and in the United States, he is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a lady at the Miami, Florida-based Kaseya Centre.

McGregor is believed to have removed the ‘explicit’ pictures he sent to Banks and unfollowed her on social media. Banks, meanwhile, has yet to announce whether she will take legal action.

As the social media discussion rages on, the finger is pointed squarely at McGregor to tackle the situation with seriousness, and many are wondering if his celebrity is turning into protection from genuine ramifications.
